Celebrating festivals together as a team is something the staff at LiveAdmins.com anticipates eagerly. Plans are made weeks in advance. This time LiveAdmins.com decided to give back and spend Christmas Eve at an orphanage. Christmas is a festival traditionally celebrated at home, with family. So it seemed apt to spend Christmas with the underprivileged and those without families. LiveAdmins.com has made it a point to give back through charitable work, and what better day to do than on Christmas Eve.
The whole event was coordinated by the staff, which ran seamlessly without a glitch. Some even volunteered to dress up as Santa in a good show of spirit, notwithstanding the remarks they would get later at the work place.
After a long, and almost exhausting, traditional Christmas dinner, the kids opened their presents. This was perhaps the most touching part of the whole evening. The emotionally charged atmosphere was lightened considerably when kids began to have fun with mistletoe. For the staff, it was just like any other Christmas Day, only with a lot more kids. It was a memorable experience for the staff, who decided it to make it a Christmas tradition and visit the orphanage more often.
Celebrating such holidays together and undertaking charitable activities not only increases employees’ interaction with each other, they also give them a strong sense of direction and purpose, which as we can see is what happened here. |
